How can I make a DNS server like the one my ISP has? They don't add all the records manually.

Sure, they got a student that constantly enters all web addresses

Do you want to host your own domain or do you want to use it as a lookup DNS?
Might be worthwile setting up a Split DNS System using 2003, pretty simple to do.

I noticed you has other posts about slow dns look-up. Is that the problem you're trying to resolve?

No i was just wondering how ISPs DNS servers worked, while I waited for the PC to slowly resolve googe.com. Nevermind through I fixed the problem with the slow connection.

I have found out how to setup an ISP like DNS server. In windows 2003 I have setup a DNS for cached lookups only. Does anyone know a good DNS server that can do cached lookups for windows xp?

i can't think of any... you probably wouldn't want to run a DNS server on a XP machine anyway. XP isn't built to handle software like that
