i thought this would go in ASP since its asp am usin to update it

well i get this error

 Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Invalid SQL statement; expected 'DELETE', 'INSERT', 'PROCEDURE', 'SELECT', or 'UPDATE'.

/client-update.asp, line 12

but its the same as other pages, and they work

heres the code:

L10 - <%
L11 - Set rsClient = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
L12 rsClient.open "contact WHERE ContactID = '" & id & "'", conn, 3, 3
L13 - rsClient("firstname") = Request.Form("firstname")

wot have i done wrong? please help

(ive tryed wit and wit out the ' in it

What are you trying to do. That is not a valid sql statement just part of it. where is the Select xxxx,xxxx,xxxx from xxxxx,  part of the sql??

ok , i deleted wot i jsut said cose i got it working (thanks to michael )

so everyone else can ignore this post now  (cept for tha question below of course!)

(PS anyone know where borg got the WYSIWYG buttons from? cose ive just seen em sumwhere else )
