Hi I'm getting that annoying error message that I was unable to log in because of a cookie problem.

My forum is upgraded from 7.1 to 7.9, and the server to Win2003 (I think).
And now noone can login.

Is there a way to say "do not check cookies" or something like that ? the forum is as mentioned installed on a intranet server.

Furthermore I would like to check the NT authorization insetad of having to log in (To kinda avoid cookie problems)
Is it possible to not have a member registration where members are being created as they visit the forum instead of registration even ?

Thanks for a great forum, nomattter the cookie thing :)

Daniel

If there is a cookie issue and cookies can not be set and read back in then this is a problem with your site rather than the forum software.

Browsers can not correctly set or read back in cookies if you use, frames, URL/IP masking, domain forwarding, etc.

I think there is a mod in the mods and add-ons forum that someone has written for NT authentication. You should have a look in there.

I have the same problem with cookies not being able to be read back to the browser because of the domain forwarding mask...
so i found that it works by using the actual IP address with the port, this needs to be configured in the forum config.

after this is done the cookie is read back just fine
