Morning all,

Wanting to know how easy this would be to set up as a lot of websites nowadays seem to be implementing this.

Basically, the user would enter their house number and postcode and the script queries a database / server and brings back the relevant address details. Now the theory is a simple query to a database which is not a problem ... just wondering if anyone knows if there's a central database that I can access to use this with my scripts. Not too sure on this one ....

As always any help is mucho appreciated. FYI all scripts I have seen doing this are ASP based, I've never seen this in PHP although it may exist.

IIRC, you can get the DB on CD from the post office. ISTR that in the UK the db is free but might be wrong about that. If any fee though, it would be nominal. Post Office in the US has quarterly updates but IMHO yearly is often enough.
I think most people shy away from the central db concept so their site isn't dependent upon some other site being up.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
