ok can anyone help with this.
i have a system of showing things off a database it works great i have three different places i show things each showing different thing this is controlled by a cloum in a database called "show" then i also have a column called "order" which orders them depending on witch "show" they are assigned to i can change them manually but i want to change them using a drop down menu that dynamicly show 1,2,3... depending on how many variable there are under the "show"
does someone know how to do this.
i think its is done for the forum when ordering topics.

Can you explain that simpler? with prehaps a sample table to make it eaysier to understand.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean.

First you have to count how many items are in the table, then use that number to loop and create a dynamic drop down.

Also a nice touch is to select the current order value on each item, you do that by doing a check inside the loop.

I can send you some code of my own, if you need, as I develope things like these quite often.

I would also apprecite that you re-ask again and explain better, maybe you mean something else.
