Hey Borg, today SQL2005 decided to expire my password for the database... ok well it was my fault.

Anyway, it gave me this error:
Server Error

An error has occured while connecting to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Error code:-
Login failed for user '(username)'. Reason: The password of the account has expired.

I'm not asking for help with the error, but instead, I'm asking if it would be possible to add better error checking. What i mean is, I really don't want people knowing the username to my database. I don't want ANY database info released ot anyone, as it can create a security risk.. right?

Perhaps you can capture errors, and store them in a database, a log (txt file), or even e-mail them. Anything would be better then showing the users the actual error... and when a error does occur, can the error page at least look similar to our forum rather then a white background.

Thanks, you're the best Tongue

This is the same error message as would be displayed in a 500 internal error message sent to users browser.

The only difference is that the forum displays the error instead, the reason is because allot of people have friendly HTTP error messages enabled in IE, which courses no end of issues when trying to workout why the users forum is crashing.

I am considering to have an option in the admin area (or setup file) to turn off detailed error messages, so that it doesn't display the actual error message to uses.
