I am helping someone out on this upgrade but using his database - when I try to access the Administration side to enter the Web Wiz Key and configure the new functions, it tells me I do not have the correct permissions.

I can use the new Web Wiz Database and gain access to the Admin side but of course that won't help too much.

Is there anything extra that has to be done?  I have upgraded sites before - just nothing this far back.   Thanks!

You been a bit vague on the exact issue so a bit hard to tell, but one thing you should check is that there are 2 common.asp files in version 7.x (there is also one in the admin folder), make sure they both point to the same database.

Sorry of course I have updated those.  Are there any fields in the new database that are not in the old database? I guess the reason at being vague is because that is what is happening - it is telling me the Admin does not have the permissions on the new database.  Connectivity does not seem to be a problem

If you are using the SQL Server version you will need to update and alter some of the stored procedures, with the Access version just replace the ASP files keeping the original database file.

Version 8 should be out within the next few months for which there will be a 7.x to 8 convertion tool so, it maybe worth waiting till then.

No - MS Access is still being used here actually.  I log in via the Admin, and hit the Admin link at the top - it takes me to another login screen wanting my user name / password and then an image.  I enter that and get the above error

If you have moved the location of your database make sure you also update the common.asp file in the admin area.

If you have done this, make sure your server is capable of using session variables and session cookies. There are a number of posts on this.

Thanks - yes the DB connection is not an issue.

I'll move everything over to my server since I was trying to do everything on his site and let you know.  Thanks!
