Topic: Avoid going to last post Posted: 21 April 2006 at 11:01pm |
When trying to view a topic by clicking on its link, you get taken to the last post on the topic/page, how to change it so that it just open the page without being taken to the last post
This is because users that view a certain topic for the first time should not be taken to the last post on the page... It is really a headache to have to scroll up again to get to the first post.

Sorry I at a lost to where this is happening as you should not be taken to the last post in a topic, unless you click the 'Last Post' icon.
Could you please explain the exact link you are referring to?

I'm not sure if this is an IE issue... It happens after the pages fully loads.. here are a few examples, :-

I tried your pages in Firefox, and IE6 and neither of them jumped to the end of the page, they stayed at the top and I had to scroll down through all the posts to get to the last post.
The only thing I can think is maybe it is an issue with your browser or some software running on your PC that is coursing this.
There is no anchor in your links so I can't see any reason why your browser jumps to the bottom of the page when it is loaded.

I tried it at school and still the same but it does not happen when I use FF... And when I use IE to browse the forum without frames it does not happen either so I think it is a frame issue also..

It could be a combination of page encoding for Arabic and using frames. I would certainly suggest removing the frames and using the header.asp and footer.asp page if you want to place your forum within your own site.

Hello,
I have the same problem, and I am using frames. It seems that when in frames the page will jump to the quick reply box which the cursor flashing in there. This is anoying lots of our users so any ideas on how to stop it would be useful. I dont really want to remove the frames but it could be a last resort.
Thanks
Charles
