    Posted: 01 August 2006 at 4:16pm
I have just installed the latest (Access) version of the Web Wiz Forum and get a "Bad Request (Invalid URL)" error when a new topic is posted.

The topic still gets posted but a user would have to go back on 2 webpages to see the topic.

I have checked the FAQ searched this forum and the web but still can't come up with a solution.

Any help will be much appreciated.

It could be a corrupted file so first try reuploading all the ASP files again and see if that solves the problem.

Hi boRg,

Thanks for your help. I had already tried uploading the files again so it wasn't that.

Interestingly, I get the same problem when posting on this forum. Both postings were at work through corporate firewall, proxy etc, when I post at home I don't get the same problem so I'm assuming it's a glitch to do with my work's infrastructure configuration.

Thanks again for your fast response.

In this case it does sound like a proxy server issue.

When you post a message it uses an anchor at the end of the URL to return you directly to your new post eg.

#1234

at the end of the URL.

It could be that your companies proxy server is old, missconfigured, or just can not handle URL's with anchors in them.

Misconfigured sounds most likely

Thanks!

I have the simmilar problem (I get the error BAD REQUEST (INVALID VERB) and I don't know if this has something to do with the script, when you are posting postst, containing URL's (links). Is it possible, that URL is making this error.

Is there some problem with server IIS (I read something about that, but I am not very familiar with that issue, so I am just guessing.

I wan't to add that this error is not happening only when you create new message, but also when you reply to post, especially (or exclusively) when you post message with links.

It is strange, that when you post new post or reply and get this message Bad Request (Invalid verb), you can post it again, and then everything is fine. I really don't know, what is causing that problem.
