Just asking if anyone has been hacked recently by a Turkish Hacker that uploads an Islamist Web page with background music through their forums.

If you have I managed to track him all the way back to Turkey.

These are the email addresses he uses

turkish_hackers@hotmail.com and bad_boy@hotmail.com

This is his web space that he uses to do his deeds
http://www.cyber-security.org/CW/Forum/insufficient_permission.asp?ForumID=31&TopicID=119217&PagePosition=0%20
he also left his ISP address and the country of origin and server name on my hit counter.(:-))

I have reported him to the police as his page was quite scary and almost a terrorist type of page.  I can assure all that the day after he hacked my forum they decided to close all the airports in the UK for a terrorist threat.  His web page contained what could only be explained as a binary code in it image.....I put it to the police that this may well have been a message to terrorists(:-)) They took it very very very very seriously.

The police have passed the information on to the Special Branch and I would assume (because I told the Hacker I was determined to shut him down)that he is sitting quietly in his computer room waiting Terrified for a call from the Turkish anti terror Authorities.

Not a very clever hacker that leaves a trace to his keyboard

Will keep all informed.

The scary thing about this hack was not did he just hack the forum but he managed to put about 5 differnt pages in every folder on my site (asp, html, php etc).  MSN are on to him they wanted his ISP address etc.

I keep emailing him with any information that I send to either the police or MSN.  It will keep his mind occupied thinking when the Turkish anti terror authorities will call at his door.

I am determind to close this guy down.  I managed to back the database up to my computer and when he registed he left everything to track him all the way back to Busra in Turkey all the way back to the computer problem thats is between his keyboard and his seat.(:-))

To prevent your forum from being hacked like this again, make sure you are running the latest version of web wiz forums and that you secure your Access database.

He gets in by downloading your Access database and getting info from within the database to get into your forum, then enables the upload tools to hack the server.

Version 7.97 onwards does have protection to prevent the Turkish hacker who has been doing this for over a year now. But if you follow the install instructions to begin with and secured your Access database you would not be vulnerable to this hack.

I have not herd much of the Turkish hacker for over 6 months now and thought he had given up as most people have learnt from bitter experience to secure their forums Access database. Newer versions also help as extra security is always being added as hackers are always inventing new ways to hack forums, so you have to keep adapting the software to stay one step ahead of them.

By the way, when reporting cyber crime, who at the UK Police do you report this to?

As his web page has a scary miitant/anti west/terror feel to it  - In the first instance I reported him to MSN, in the second I reported him to the local police who pass the information on to the Special Branch and in the Third instance I sent the details to the Fax number of the Met Police Terrorist branch.  So watch out Turkish Hacker a call from Turkish anti terror authorities is imminent.

I will get this pratt closed down and investigated if it is the last thing I do.  I am taking a diffedrent tack with this guy.  I dont view him as a hacker but a Terrorist and a terrorist who uploaded a web page to my site the day before the Airports where closed with what to me at least, looked like some form of secret code in binary numbers on the web page for other Islamist militants to read.(:-))

You know no one will really look into this person and try to stop them. The only thing you can do is remove the hacked page, figure out how they did it, and fix your security problems. People like this will always be around because there is always some other 12 year old to take their place.

p.s. The best you can do is figure out where the images are hosted, contact that hosting company, and get their website shut down. Just email the hosting company and tell them its a hacker website and if they dont remove the site you will take legal action. Ive had a few hacker hosting accounts shut down in less than 6 hours.
