Hello,
 
I want to host on a local computer websites (1 to 3 pages) and give the possiblity for people to access those websites.
 
Pls advise about the sofware, hardware, procedure.

In addition to what Michael suggested, I think that you will need to check with your ISP to make sure that they don't block port 80 TCP (HTTP); I work at an ISP and we block that port for residential customers but not for business customers.
80: TCP: Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), blocked to reduce the likelihood of customers running web servers over our equipmentweb service can produce high bandwidth needs.

Personally, i believe that if you dont know how to run a server, you should NOT run it.

There is a lot of security stuff you have to keep up to date on, and server costs and ISP costs could be way more than paying $5 a month for a host.

Yeah i agree with Drew,
Most hosts offer a far better package of options and reliability as well as technical know how, for far cheaper than it costs to run a home server.

Also as said above, many ISP will boot you as it may be against there contract.
