	I thought I mentioned this before, perhaps not. There is an open error that needs to be handled IMO... that is when a post is too long you get the ASP error and going back typically clears the post. If a new post is too long (I think it's the same with replies but I'm sticking to the facts I KNOW.), this is the error (IE: 6) Request object error 'ASP 0107 : 80004005' Stack Overflow /new_post.asp, line 112 The data being processed is over the allowed limit. It would be handy if the validator would kick out an error instead. Don't you think?

	This is a problem within ASP itself. The problem is that the ASP response object can only handle 100Kb of data. The ASP response object not only holds the posted data from your post, but also cookies, browser headers, and lots of other data sent back and forth between the browser and the web server. This means that you simply don't know how much data the ASP response object will be holding as it will be different for every browser, web site, and computer. Once the data is on the server if the ASP response object has over 100Kb of data it throws an error, and ASP doesn't have a built in way of handling this or testing to see if there is an issue. This problem has been looked into before in some depth and allot of other developers have also looked into this as there are a number of articles about this on the web, but no-one has ever come up with a practice way of solving this issue. Lucky most people would never make a post anywhere near 100Kb, and I certainly wouldn't want to read a post of that sizes, so this is rarely an issue for Web Wiz Forums.

	Thank you master wizard... I thought it was the character count and DB field. My bad. You are right about the 100K post. I was trying to archive some old threads from a print preview screen. I found another way to do it. (txt file upload in a private forum with a special user group ) Thanks again.
