I would like to use the Rich Text Editor on my web site registration form, but have a question.  I have a textarea field where I want the editor and the field allows a maximum of 1500 characters.  I need to count down the characters as the user types and display the count under the editor.

Can this additional option be programmed for me?  What would be the cost?

Forgot one other small issue.  I would only use about half of the buttons available in the editor.  Can I simply delete the ones I do not want to display?

I would also like to display specific buttons for users the are subscribed to my site and others for users that are not subscribed.  I use cookies on my site to determine whether a user is subscribed or not.  Can I use a simple IF...THEN statement to choose which buttons to display for subscribed users?

hi,
 
you do 1500 minus the length of the value in the text area and display that on the page saying how many charecters are left.,
 
if cookies determine the user status then yes you could do a check on the cookie and show cetain buttons depending on the value.
 
i belive you can disable features in the RTE within the configuration/settings file
