Importing Members stops at 767 records

my first post...

I'm looking at upgrading a very old version of webwiz forums (around about version 5 or 4) to version 9. Not actually upgrading - I don't think that would be possible but we do want to preserve all the usernames and passwords.

Trying to use the import tool to copy username, password, author_email and no_of_posts from the really old tblAuthor to the new database.

It consistently stops after 767 records though (there are 84,000 in my database). I was using 9.0.0, but just upgraded to 9.0.3 - it still does the same thing. Doesn't report an error, just gets to 767 members processed and stops.

If I try the import again (without deleting the imported records) it simply skips the first 767 records then stops at the same place. I can delete the imported records and I get the same thing.

There are 5 users already in the database. The databases are on the same server.

But also, when I try to log in with one of the imported user's username and password, that doesn't work . The email addresses are imported ok (in version 9.0.3 - not in 9.0.0).

Not really easy to tell what the 768th record is but it's processing past that now.

Has anyone any suggestions about the passwords not working? The password column looks like it's populated ok, just when I try logging in with any of the old usernames and password always fail.
