Today I was trying to upload some png images and when I tried to uplaod, first wwf gave me an insufficient permission error. Then I reloaded the page and tried again, now i came up with Image is of wrong file type error.

I am sure i was trying to upload png files and there should not be any error/xml inserted into the images.

I converted the png files into jpg and gif and tried with both file types but still no luck.

I end up with the same error: Image is of wrong file type.

Files are scanned for malicious code when updated. If the image has been edited in Adobe software then it injects a load of XML code into the image, this can be mistaken for malicious code and rejected when uploaded.

To fix the issue upgrade to the latest 9.50 version.

Bruce thanks for the reply.

I know about the adobe xml and I am sorry if my post was in lack of enough information. I was not talking about my forum I am talking about this WEB WIZ site.

I was trying to upload screen shots of a skin i've created on the skins forum. Images were the same that are uploaded at http://board.ebizbd.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=132. There i see no errors but on webwizforums.com I was unable to upload any of the images.

So I reported a possible bug report.

Thats very odd as upload should not be enabled on this web site.

The upload tools on this web site are not using the latest version as this site is using a bit of a mix of old a new to test out some of the new items that are to come in version 10.

Hence why this forum still used the old Web Wiz CAPTCHA security images and the latest released version 9.50 uses the new release.

Thanks for your reply bruce.

What did you mean by 'odd'? That I was able to 'upload'? Here is what I did:

Edit Post > Insert Image > upload

Upload is located at the bottom left of the pop up.

Did you mean that the problem I had is normal on this site?

The XML coding only exists if you use Photoshop Save as option (me thinks)
If you save an image for web then the XML coding does not exist

One thing I did find out though is using Vista snipping tool it must also inject this XML code, as I have had similar issues. Bruce I may very well contact you soon to discuss upgrade, but I will have to review what files have been changed so as not to lose changes to how the forum works

MrTWS my forum was not the issue here. I said before this site is the issue.

And I know about adobe's xml. In fact if bruce can remember i was one of the first who pointed this as an adobe injection on this very site. I don't think you are getting my point. All I am saying is that i found odd that i couldn't upload images that i did uploaded on v9.50 and older v9.x.

and on www.webwizforums.com i saw this issue. i think now i have make my point clear enough.
