Hi!
 
We have the forum up and running in test mode.
 
When the forum loads, or after the front page is visible, we can see that there are about 130 items still to be loaded in the status bar in IExplorer.
 
Has this to do with cahing images in IIS 6.0?
 
Or is is something else?
 
We are using JScripts in the page and they will not load before all these items are finished loding...
 
We have about 100 forums on the front page.

100 forums is a massive amount of forums, usually you are better cutting the number of forums down as large numbers of forums tend to divide communities and you end up with everyone posting in just one of two forums.

However 100 forums should not be slow to load. 130 items would be the images as an icon is displayed next to each forum, 100 forums = over 100 image icons. However there are only around 5 or 6 different icons used so it only needs to download around 10 icons in all not 130 which should speed things up.

I solved it by caching the /foum_images/ folder in ISS 6.0

Steinar, how did you cache the /forum_images folder? Is caching already enabled by default in IIS6? Thanks
