I upgraded to 9.51. Using AD integration. MSSQL DB, Windows 2k3 Server.

Was able to log in fine, but clicking on a forum caused an error. "There was a problem processing the request. The technical staff has already been alerted to the problem." Pretty sure that is our server's custom error message so not really relevant. Here is what our error reporter said:

Error Number: -2146827788
Source: Microsoft VBScript Runtime
Page: /forums/forum_topics.asp
Desc: Variable Undefined: 'blnSqlSvrAdvPaging'.
Code: No code available.
Line: 422
Get Data: FID = 1.

Reverting back to 9.50 removes this problem. Didn't make any other changes.

Make a change to database_connection.asp:

'*** Advanced Paging - Performance Boost ***
'Set this to true for advanced paging in SQL Server 2005/2008 and mySQL
'If you use SQL Server 2005/2008 or mySQL this will give a massive performance boost to your forum
 Const blnSqlSvrAdvPaging = False

Don't just copy across your old database_connection.asp file...it contains both that variable and other changes...install the new one and add the 4 database info fields from your old version (SQL Server version).

Are the 4 new fields in version 9.50?

I've upgraded, it seemed slow at first (over 2 seconds per page generation) but now it seems back to normal but not faster. I did use the new files including the data connection file but I commented out the mysql obc connection since I am using MS SQL.

It's a brand new forum with no traffic...

The 4 database fields have always been there and define (SQL SERVER 2005) the server, database, logon and pass.

I am just saying do not use the old file...use the new file and enter that information from scratch.

Performance here appears the same as normal.
