"Last post" in forum list even after moved

In our forum page, the main forum page where it shows the list of forums, etc. and the number of topics, number of posts, then the last post link, we had a spammer post in our General AMC Chat forum. The last post showed the poster, date/time and the gold arrow.
Our moderator moved the post to the post graveyard - a hidden section that only we see so we can review before finally deleting messages.
The "show moved icon" was NOT checked, so there is NO moved icon (folks don't get that so we never used it anyway, it confuses folks since they think it's still there and the icon isn't that obvious)
ANYWAY, I digress.
The problem is, when you go to our forum, that Last Post link is STILL there even though the post is not. And when you click it, it takes you right back to the home page.
Why, after a post is MOVED to a hidden area, is the past post link in the right column still there for all to see and attempt to click on?
If you go into the General AMC Chat section, the post isn't there and there's no link to it.............
