The area in which to type a message is missing. It's a blank area when I enable the Rich Text Editor (WYSIWYG).

It works if I disable the rich text editor, everything else seems to work fine.

There is an ! error in the bottom left of the browser, clicking it reveals:

Syntax error
RTE_javascript_common.asp      Line:38

Syntax error                              Line:203
RTE_javascript.asp

Object expected                       Line:183
forum_post.asp                       Char: 7
Code:0

Any ideas what may cause this?

Are you using translated language files?

If so then the problem is that one or more of the translated text that is being used within the JavaScript is coursing the JavaScript to fail.

You need to insure that any text that is used within JavaScript is translated to be JavaScript safe. you may need to escape certain characters that are using in your language.

I haven't changed anything or added language files. Is there a way to check if I have enabled something accidentially?

If that is the case it could be a corrupted file as 90% of errors are coursed by files becoming corrupted in the FTP process.

Try reuploading the original files again.

If you are using a free webs host that inject ads into the pages then the WYSIWYG editor will not run.

If you are still stuck then you may want to look at our Free Web Wiz Forums Hosted Service where you have the forum installed for you on our servers by one of our engineers. The page below gives more information:-

I'm using free hosting with Jabry.com, I think that may be the problem! Thanks for the quick response and help.
