This is a quick question. Can I install Beta 10 into a new directory and then link it to my existing 9.73 database (which would be upgraded with new schema etc).

However, will existing 9.73 users be able to view the forum normally with the upgraded MS SQL database, whilst I tinker with Beta 10?

I haven't checked it out fully, but the main configuration table in the database is completely different so I would suspect that this would not be possible.

You could create a copy of your database which you can upgrade, if you want to get your website ready for V10. How ever if you simply want to play with V10 I would recommend a new blank database.

It is possible but you would get problems such as with the new points system which you do not have in version 9.x.

It's not really been tested here in the lab so you may find some other issues depending on the type of database you use running version 9.x or a 10.x database when you go to use version 10 with the database as the new data used in version 10 would not have been recorded.
