10.03 Upgrade Questions Plus

I'm planning on upgrading to forum 10.03 very soon. However I have a few questions about it and other stuff:


1. Is there a way to prevent guest from posting on my forum? I have had unregistered users post spam

2. Is there a way to make the avatar clickable thus redirecting the user to the profile of the clicked avatar.

3. Is there a way to only allow notifications of replied in forums and prevent users from emailing other users.

Version 10.03

4. What is the process involved in upgrading to version 10.03. Will the upgrade destroy my current configurations? Will upgrading have any adverse effect on my current forums?

5. Do I have to pay the full amount for the upgrade? If so, Nooo problem. Just checking if I have some sort of discount since I already have a forum going. LOL

1. You should not allow Guests to post in your forum, if you have enabled this then you need to use the permissions system to remove posting for the Guest group. The Spam Prevention page has details on how to reduce spam in your forum for version 10.

2. You would need to modify the source code to make the Avatar clickable as this is not a built in option.

3. Use the Email Settings page in your forums admin area to change what email features the members have available. Version 10 does have more options that version 9.

4. The Web Wiz Forums Documentation pages have information on how to upgrade your forum keeping the present data and settings.

5. The cost of upgrading depends if your upgrade protection has expired or not. You can check this in your Client Area account and if it has you can extend the upgrade protection, which also includes email support for 1 year for as little as £12.95.
