Suggestion - Ability to Tag usernames

To make WWF more social, or more like social networks... can a feature be added where you're able to tag another user by using "@member-name" ? and once you type "@" followed by the first letter you get a list of suggestion based on the members table, etc.  Once tagged, the user who was tagged receives a notification (maybe in the message center) where a section like inbox is created saying user so and so has tagged you in so and so post?
