I have a potential client who lost his old web site because his web site was accidentally deleted from a server. However, the design template is still up. He is thinking about switching hosting companies. I would like to work with this template and help him to build the web pages again. There's a copyright for his organization. Is it a violation of copyright if I help him to build the web pages on his old template?

1- Is he still thinking in changing hosts, only because of that little thing?

2- Tell him that back-ups are a nice thing, it's a new method of saving your work, maybe he didn't heard about that yet, ask him to search on Google, he may can get some findings about this brand new method, I think its some Harvard or MIT thing.

3- If is the same guy/company, the copyright template is his/theirs property, why this would give him/them any trouble?

I actually offer hosting plans. The files for his web site cannot be retrieved. They were deleted. I guess he must have not had a backup copy of them. He is thinking about using one of my hosting plans.

I just wanted to make sure that it was okay for me to use this client's old template without violating copyright. He lost all of his web pages. He needs me to build them again. It would cost too much to do a new design.

again, if the copyright is his, there is no problem, he have just to agree with you to use the old design.
