Ok last night I was browsing a website selling drum stuff (website will remain annonymous!).  I saw this on the site:

MAPEX DOUBLE BASS KIT
WAS -
$1,500
NOW - $0.99!

Before I made the purchase I chatted to a representative in Live Support and this is an extract from the conversation:

Me: The products on your site, the price they say, once I place an order for them, is that the price I pay? no hidden charges?
Chase: That is the price you pay, there are no hidden charges.
Me: Once ive placed the order, the contract is made and i get the product for that price?
Chase: Correct.

I got the reprensentative to send me a copy of the transcript to my email account.

So then I was lead to believe that the kit was 99cents as advertised, so I ordered one.  I got a receipt, and 99cents was taken from the bank account.

Im thinking that just before they ship someones going to stop it, do they have any grounds now to do this?

Thanks!

That's how I ordered office cabinet from staples or officemax.com. The price wasn't so low, however fair enough. They promised 2-3 days delivery, however they didn't even shipped the order during the next 3 weeks, saying it's out of stock. So I just cancelled it. But the deal was about $150-200.

Question - how many of you will cances $0.99 deal - I mean time and nerve-wise. Most of us will say "screw this 99 cents", they don't worth to spend half-hour on the phone with your credit card company to cancel that 99 c. transaction.

Obviously, the shipping can be delayed beyond any reasonable timeline... until you'll just forget abt this dollar. However, please let us know if you'll REALLY receive your order. :))))

p.s. man, if I wasn't a cop I used to be a con artist, I have so many brilliant ideas :)))

No I got my friend in the US to order two kits.  One each!  Its $70 shipping per kit, but if you ordered $300 worth of stuff shipping was free, but my friend said he didnt have space for 1,800 drums!  Its less conspicuous with two anyway.

We will start bugging them as soon as the order takes longer than is stated.

I bet they are sh*tting their pants!  $3,000 of drums for $1.98

Maybe we should start a poll:

Will Gullanian get the drums he ordered?

1) No Way in hell!
2) Not a chance!
3) Don't hold your breath!
4) Are you kidding?

5) Can't talk now...laughing too hard...check back later...
