I have a requirement to create following options for email:

1. Deferred email (option to send at a later date).

2. Sending reply to email other than the person who sent it.

3. Text formatting options.

Any pointers as to how this can be implemented is appreciated.

In order to send a reply you need a component that can do pop3 in order to get the message to reply to off the server. Check jmail they I believe have a complete web based application that could do that together with their component. There are also some scripts on aspin.com that do exactly that.
