Please let me know what changes and where should I make in the common.asp file if I need to Use a DSN to connect the MSSQL server. I am using the webwizforum_SQLserver7 version. I have changed the database name with a different DSN name.

Sorry the SQL server version doesn't work with a DSN connection to the database.

SQL is more stable etc... (See the other discusions about SQL vs. Access)

You will find Access easier to use

You should make all changes regarding the database connection in the common.asp file.

DSN-less connection is faster than the DSN, also the forum is designed for the DSN-less connection with the driver that is advised for it, you may find that the forum will not run at all and also slower with a DSN.

Well, I tried using DSN not knowing that it want work, but how ever it works with a DSn connection but I dont know how fast it is. I will have to try by using DSN-less connection and compare the fast.

I have another question for you, tell me how can I display the number of visitors and number of active visitors as you can see at the bottom of this page.

I am using DSN as well. I can use the forum, but encounter problems when trying to administer it. Where all do I need to change the DSN code? Just in common.asp? When I click the link for the "Admin" at the top left as noted in the instructions, I get a page that comes up showing that I'm not authorized to view that page (like I'm not logged in as the Administrator.)

I have already set up the DSN with my host.

Any ideas? I can't use SQL due to cost ($25 U.S. added to my monthly account.)

Thanks
