Hi - I'm just getting started with WWiz - please bear with me as I try to get things working.  First, I changed the two common.asp files to use a DSN and I changed the location of the wwforum.mdb to /fpdb/wwforum.mdb  (you guessed it - I'm using FP 2003)

I put a link to default.asp on a new page on my site..

I get the error message

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

/forum/common.asp, line 249

I didn't change anything on that line.

You can try yourself at

http://www.jurassicpork.com/forum/default.asp

thanks in advance,

dan

Make sure you've typed the right path to your database folder.

Did you setup the DSN on the server itself? It is not enough to specify a DSN if you use it, you also need to create a preferrably Machine DSN on the webserver computer. You might want to try not using DSN as it may prove better performance.

In test I've done the forum certainly performs allot faster using the DSN-less connection it comes with and with much less problems.

To everyone, my bad on not removing a quote for the DSN line, I now have it running - now the real fun starts

Happy new year, I'm sure I'll be back soon....
