Hi everyone!

I just uploaded the newversion to my site for my husband's car club.  I am running an older version for my main site.

I keep getting this error message

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Could not find installable ISAM.

/Uroc/forum/common.asp, line 260

THe Host tells me that everything is set up correctly on their end... does someone have an idea what this means?  I have the database in my CGI-Bin just like my others and have renamed it.  It is also renamed and set up as the Physical path in both Common ASP files.

Thanks!!

This is lines 259 and 260

'Set an active connection to the Connection object
adoCon.Open

Actually, with my hosting company, I have to have the databases set up in the CGI-Bin.  They only allow for connections that way.  I have been working this way for over a year now.. and this is the first time I have had a problem.

So it appears that in addition to the jet 4 oledb drivers, you also need to install the jet engine runtime on the web server. Both are available from the microsoft mdac download site.

Or you have a path problem, ie it cant find your access database

I have talked to my host and they said all is up and running fine on their end.  I use the physical path as it is the same except for the file name as the one I use for my regular site:

 strDbPathAndName = "driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=e:\InetPub\Clients\crochetlegacy.com\cgi-bin\da tabase\UROCForum.mdb"

Does this help at all? I am seriously frustrated at this point.  I would love to update my regular forums.. but now I am afraid to do so.

It lloks to me that the problem is with your web hosts server.

If they are unwilling to sort this problem for you, maybe it's time to switch to a better web host.

Have you tried the alternative connection strings in common.asp just below the one you use above?
