Hi,

I've downloaded the latest version (7.7) and it work fine except that I'm not able to register to the forum. I cann add users via Admin control panel but as a user browsing the site I can't.

I get a message telling me that the security code didn't match the one displayed, please try again and make sure you have cookies enabled.

The code I'm entering is always correct and I do have cookies enabled. I even enabled all cookies so there won't be any problems. The strange thing is that until yesterday it worked. I was able to register.

Any ideas?

With kindest regards,
Goran

Nope.

Meanwhile I fixed it by modifying the register.asp file so it doesn't require the security code but I'd like to know what's causing it.

Many thanx,
Goran

This can be coursed by a number of things that mean the ASP session is dropped.

Things that can course the ASP sesison to be dropped are:-

  • Cookie problem. (do a search on the forum for cookies)
  • Multiple load balanced servers for your site that don't carry across the session.
  • Other applications on the site that use the ASP method 'Session.Abandon' (chat room applications ofetn use this) this courses the ASP session to be dropped.
  • The session timeout for your site is set to low.
  • Problems with the web server.
