Topic: A problem with SQL 2000 - Possible?!?! Posted: 12 March 2003 at 10:40am |
I have a problem with SQL 2000.. About a Month ago I installed SQL-2000 on my PC (Windows 2003 Server)... Suddenly my Modem (Cable Modem) stopped working... It worked but every 30 minutes i had to restart my PC to make it work.. So i just switched that my host will be my other PC (Win XP).. Yesterday I installed SQL 2000 on the other PC... And guess what! Same problem with the internet... Does it have anything to do with just installing new service packs? or what? Did anyone bumped into this problem before.. If so, Help me.

I've not found this problem with my own machine, but it may have somthing to do with the worm virus that effects SQL server 2000 that shut down half the web last month, try installing the latest service pack for SQL server 2000, if you are using XP then you will have to install SP1 for XP beofre installing SP3 for SQL server 2000.

Actually it's not in beta anymore it's in Release Mode so only cosmetic problems are being fixed. Besides that I have SQL2k installed on 2003 server and there are no problems, even without the SP, so get some virus scanner maybe you are really infected

I've got RC2 of Windows 2003 server, I would like to run it but as usual the only hardware that I have that won't run under a new version of Windows is Microsoft hardware.
My office keyboard with the handy, cut, copy, and paste, buttons with a large scroll wheel that is so handy for programming dosn't have any drivers to run under it. I've treid work arounds bu have no luck.
If anyone knows how I can get the MS office keyboard to run under Windows 2003 server then please let me know.

Cool. Any worthwhile changes in 2K3, apart from IIS6?

Tons of changes the whole Active Directory changed and speed and reliability has been improved. You can read it up on ms, thus again it is always just an upgrade. :)
