i am wondering is it possible to FTP a file from my wwwroot folder to the ftproot folder using asp?? any help would be appreciated.

you can do it with filesystemobject... take a look in w3school's ASP section... there's a good tutorial in there... www.w3schools.com

i'm using filesystemobject and wscript.shell but when i run the asp script it just stalls. can u use anything else other than wscript.shell??

To move or rename a file:
objFSO.MoveFile "c:\myfile.txt", "c:\myrenamedfile.txt"

Do you run Norton Antivirus on your server? If so disable script blocking, took me months to figure that out... Maybe im just slow
