Test database works ok but when I click next I get "An Error Occurred Writing the Database Settings File" I'm positive permissions are set as they should be, I have other databases working correctly in the same directory.

Above was with Access.

Tried with MySQL and get the same error. Once again test database works, error occurs when clicking next.

The error is because you do not have read/write permissions set for the database config file ("forum/database/" I think).

I do have read/write set. Do they even need to be set if you are using MySql and not Access?

They need to be set regardless, otherwise it cannot save the database connection details to the config file.

The forums 'database' folder needs to have read, write and modify permission set in order that the install wizard can save the database configuration to the files in this folder.
