I am interested in adding and or removing words/images from the bank of preset codes included with the CAPTCHA package. It appears that the images are stored using a hexadecimal encoding.
  • Does anyone know how to transform a jpg or gif into hex code to use in the bank?
  • Are there tools available to do so?

It's not hard to do, just a pain. The way I did it was:-

1. Create the GIF's in Fireworks, or Photoshop etc.
2. Save the GIF file to your hard drive
3. Open the GIF in HHD Software Free HEX Editor
4. Copy and paste the HEX across to the CAPTCHA_image.asp file open in a text editor

HHD's Hex Editor can be setup to show more code on one line and also you can change it so that when copy and pasting text note to 'Copy Addresses'

THANKS! That's what I was thinking roughly, I just didn't realize the HEX Editor portion, I was attempting in through notepad, obviously, not working too well.
