Web Wiz is pleased to announce greater spam detection for our Shared Hosting Customers Mailboxes thanks to our new spam filters powered by Commtouch Premium Anti-spam.
In the last 12 months we have seen a dramatic rise in the number of false positives from the anti-spam filters we had been previously using. This has led to us looking for alternatives and after much testing we have found that Commtouch Premium Anti-spams ability to monitor new threats and outbreaks a real advantage to our customers.
Rather than evaluating the content of messages, the Commtouch Detection Centre analyses large volumes of Internet traffic in real-time. The unique content-agnostic technology detects and blocks spam in any language and is highly effective against image-based spam. As a result, new spam outbreaks are identified as soon as they emerge, achieving upwards of 99.5% spam protection for Web Wiz Customers. See

Commtouch is used in conjunction with, Reverse DNS, SPF Records, DomainKeys/DKIM, Real Time Blackhole Lists from Barracuda, SpamHaus, and HostKarma, URI Blacklist from SURBL as well as the use of Greylisting .
Customers are also able to setup their own Content Filters as well as change the action of spam flagged email from their Webmail service.
The Antivirus solutions listed here are provided to all our Customers that utilise our Shared Hosting Mail Servers at no extra charge.
