Rich Text Editor 4.08 Security Update - Event Date: 16 May 2011

Web Wiz Rich text Editor 4.08 has been released today to fix a critical security vulnerability that was discovered this morning.

It is recommended that anyone running either Web Wiz Rich Text Editor on Windows 2000 IIS5 or Windows 2003 IIS6 upgrade to these latest versions as soon as possible.

This security vulnerability is classed as extremely critical and is presently being exploited by hackers in the wild and came to light this morning from a report of a web site being hacked.

Here at Web Wiz we take security very seriously and aim to fix any security vulnerabilities within 24 hours of the vulnerability being discovered or reported. In this case we were able to fix the vulnerability and have a new release of both Web Wiz Forums and Web Wiz Rich text Editor within one hour of this vulnerability being discovered.
