the connection string is a path to the database on the web server. If I try to build the connection it tries to connect and cannot due to the database being on the web server so it will not save the info. How do I bypass this or how do I make a connection file. The data access pages get the error cannot initalize or disk or network error

OK, thats not really a connection string that you would use in a web application.

Use a proper connection string from here:
http://www.able-consulting.com/ado_conn.htm

Then post the error message you are receiving.

Cheers,
Andrew
