Add Buddy Problem

Hi,

See if someone can help me please. I am having problem with the Add Buddy. When typed some name that doest exists, it gives me error. How can I check the database first ? Whe I click search to try to find usernames it is okay, when it finds it adds to the field in the page, but when i use pm_add_buddy.asp and type anything that doesnt exists... problem occurs.
