    Posted: 20 January 2005 at 9:55am
When uploading an image, it seems to work fine for smaller images. I tested up to 180k

But when I try to upload an 800k image I get this error:

Request object error 'ASP 0104 : 80004005'
Operation not Allowed
/administration/RTE/functions/functions_upload.asp, line 242

Yes, I have my max size set in includes/RTE_Setup.asp
It is set to 2500

Any ideas?

You haven't mentioned what version you are using as this would help as then I could lookup line 242????

Most upload components only allow files of a certain size to be uploaded, check on the aspSmartUpload site as to the max file size.

Most only allow upto 2000KB

OK, I found the problem. I will post for anyone else who may have the same problem.

I am running a Win 2003 Server and there is a default limit in the metabase of 200k. This value needs to be changed to allow larger uploads.

Open your metabase.XML which is located in c:\Windows\System32\Inetsrv find the line "AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed" and change it to "1073741824". This is 1GB - of course you can enter another value to suite your needs.

NOTE: Before you edit the file, be sure to stop the IIS service first or else you won't be able to save the file.
