I am trying to access ODBC from across the internet, in order to view the DSN on my server (at home).

The server is running Windows XP Pro, IIS5.1 and MSDE SQL. It is sat behind a router running NAT so I need to know which port the ODBC queries are run so that I may set up the router to pass them to the server.

Anyone know? Tried searching the net but only could find references to MySQL

How would you connect to the remote ODBC?? I don't think you can do it like that, unless you setup a VPN of some kind. If you are running MSDE, just open port 1433 on your router, and connect via IP, much easier and faster.

Ooops - thats what I meant.

I use DSN connections - just for simplicities sake, just need to know the port to query the DSN

Cheers

it would still be 1433 because your dsn is always local, at the requesting pc. so you only need to open the sql port which is 1433 by default....
