    Posted: 27 May 2005 at 2:37am
Hi all techies
I downloaded RTE to use on my site.

Initially, i tested it on my home pc and it worked perfectly.
I must say its a great work done.

BUT,
when i used it on my site hosted at brinkster, it is giving javascript runtime errors and rte toolbar is hence not loaded.
It gives an error that objected expected" ,  .... i debugged and found that this error was regarding the "WebwizRtetoolbar()" function.

On the brinkstr server  , i set up the files exactly i set up on my home pc. But i cant get why , its causing erroe there.

Plzzzzz help me out

Sorry it won't work on Brinkster due to the adds Brinkster inject into your pages prevent the javascript files from loading correctly.

the RTE should work on most paid hosts and i believe yes it will work on a paid hosting account on brinkster,

the main problem why it wont is as boRg pointed out about adds that are inserted.

In the current situation , brinkster has not put up any ads in my webite..................................

whn da page is loaded after givin all da errorz(obviously the RTE toolbar is not loaded) , i copied da source code ov dat page at dat time.
Then i copied da source code of da same page whn it is run from my local machine(IIS 5.0)........

I compared both da codes to find not evn a single difference , except  a meta tag ... and a line saying dat   "web hosting by brinkster"

You must hav read the above posts in ds thread.

Brinkster doesnt puts any ad except a text link to brinkster , that to just at the damn end  of the document.
Also, it is not making any changes to the code .

I tried it on www.1asphost.com also, and  it also does not puts any ad ,
still even this gives da same error.

Plz help me out.
Also, is here anyone who is using RTE on a free server/hosting account?

Web hosting costs allot of money, so free web hosts give you free hosting accounts as a taster, with many items disabled, in the hope that you upgrade to a paid hosting account.

Most free web hosts inject code into all pages for your site, this prevents things like the RTE running.
