I have a web host account that provides only one MS SQL database.  Additional can be purchased of course, but I am cheap. Smile

I am installing the ASP Invision (aka Mad Dog Portal) on one domain at this host and it uses the Web Wiz Forum.  I want to use Web Wiz on another domain on the same host, using the same MS SQL database.  Due to table names, stored procedures, etc. being the same this could be an issue.

Can this be done, or will have I have to purchase a second MS SQL DB?

In the common.asp files and the sql server setup file you can define a custom prefix for the tables and sp's. I don't know if mad's portal has the same, you might also want to check with him (on his site) if you have the license to install it twice. But what wwg is concered you can just change the prefix...

Invision's table names start with 'tbl'.  Didn't look at the stored procedures.  But in any event, it looks like I can change the prefix for the WWF stuff so I should be in good shape.

As for licensing, what I'd have would be one copy of Invision running (with's install of WWF) and a second domain running just WWF.  I only want to run Invision once.  But I want to effectivly be running 2 copies of WWF.  I assume this is OK with the WWF license.
