Excuse me if I'm being a bit thick here! If I selected 'Yes' to Newsletter Subscriptions when I registered on this forum does this mean that I don't need to subscribe to Web Wiz News as well or is this something completely different?

Yes that is correct, although this is more to demonstrat that you can signup to NewsPad Newsletters from within Web Wiz Forums as we do not sendout Newsletters via email.

If you want to be kept un-to-date then you should subscribe to one of the RSS Feeds in the news area.

I asked the question as I'm considering using NewsPad with my WW Forum and was trying to find out how tightly the two are integrated.

Which leads me to my next question... How do forum members subscribe to different NewsPad categories? I thought I might be able to do this from the Subscriptions tab in Member Control Panel but the option isn't there.

Web Wiz Forums members can not select a category, instead when you go to send an eNewsletter from NewsPad you can select which Web Wiz Forums member groups you want to send the eNewsletter to.

Question:

Lets say I want to send out an eNewsletter to a particular group. Law requires an unsubscribe link at or near the bottom of an eNewsletter. If the froum group I am sending the eNewsletter out to is not subscribed to the Newspad app, how can they unsubscribe and prevent future eNewsletters from reaching them if I select to send another one out to that particular group?

So that it complies with European and US laws you can only send out to those who have checked the 'Newsletter' box in their forum profile or when registering to the forums.

In Europe these laws are stricter and you can only send to those people who explicitly click on a box to have Newsletters sent, you can not subscribe them yourself as this would be classed as unsolistored email.

An unsubscribe link is included in each Newsletter sent out to Web Wiz Forums members, which when clicked on will take the user to the forum where they will be unsubscribed from receiving anymore Newsletters sent out (so make sure that the link you set in NewsPad to your forum is correct, so members can unsubscribe).

When you go to send Newsletters to forum groups in NewsPad it will only send to those members who have subscribed in the forum to receive Newsletters, those who have not subscribed or have clicked an unsubscribe link in a Newsletter will not receive Newsletters sent from NewsPad.
