I am very naive when it comes to webdesign and needs.  I have a company that
offers t-shirts and clothing.  We have a store front and website.
We also offer an "in  house" credit card for customers to charge their purchases to.

I really need an addition to my website where customers can log in, see their account information, review recent charge,s make payments, etc.

I don't know where to go for this or even words to search for this type of software.

( I am a 55 year old grandmother so my interent exp is very limited.)

I would really appreciate if someone could head me in the right direction as far as what I need to ask for, search for, or if there is software available to buy.

Thank you so much for all of your help!!!

Ann

If you already have a website in place, you would need to consult perhaps with your web host about making this an e-shop, so customers could login, check purchases, etc
You can get "bespoke" shopping cart software that uses ASP scripting language, but if you are expecting customers to make payments through webpages, you would need secure pages for transactions, etc - the ones with https and a padlock

As regards asp shopping cart software, there are many choices around - some are good, and some are bad. And they can vary in price from FREE to several hundreds of dollars

VP Asp is one choice and you can use a FREE one just to check it out
Cactushop is another

Those are just 2 but there are lots
Pop onto google and type in:
shopping cart software

and you will see lots of choices

Its not really a shopping cart that I need - ( I think )

Its more so that the person can track their credit card account info.

Like logging into your visa or macys card and reviewing recent purchases , make payments, check for available credit etc.    Like I said - I offer an in house credit card and I"d like for them to be able to log in and review their account rather than having call and ask for their available credit, has a payment posted, etc etc.

Thanks guys!!!

This kind of stuff would therefore need asp scripting, a database and a lot more knowledge than I have - sorry Unhappy But it would need to be secure and safe, and I'm not sure what requirements you would need on your hosting account to protect people (your customers) since their data would be subject to abuse in the wrong hands

As TWS said, you would need this to be secure. As you do not have the ability to create this i would highly recommend finding a local reputable web design company that would be able to develop this for you.

If you have an in-house Credit Card you sure do some type of card production provider and payment processor. You may need to check with them on how to acccess their payments.

Since Credit Card Processing is something that does naturally require a high degree of security I would not trust some $29 self made asp app. Generally nothing that is written in a scripting language like asp and php is hardened enough to provide enough security.

So in a nutshell it will not be as easy as plugging a canned app in front of it, contact your card provider and see what others are doing to get a lead on things.
