The last week has been a great adventure implementing
Web Wiz Forums and
Web Wiz Journals into my websites. I cut my teeth on the
asp so that I could have
multiple journals available only using
one set of code, and also wrote a new display page to show two journal items side-by-side as a 'teaser'. I haven't added much to the forums code so far - I haven't needed to.
Then..... oh my goodness, I finally found the Rich Text Editor download - this is brilliant and so cross-browser compatible.
It took me literally 5 minutes to implement it into a page on my website that allows a user to store permanent notes in a user database.
Anyway, yesterday I thought to myself... I bet this RTE code will be in a new version of Web Wiz Journals at some time. Hmmm, but I don't really want to wait until then. So I set about integrating the RTE code into Journals. It took me a couple of hours - but WOW, what great results. Now I needn't worry about whether I'm using IE or Firefox to create new journal entries, I link to the RTE code direct from the Admin page (both for NEW and EDIT). It certainly wasn't a simple and straightforward change - but certainly well worth it for the end result.
I am going to be sending a donation for all this code - I don't want to have the 'advertising links' removed - good coders need promoting.
This stuff has saved me months of coding.
