Hi all

I am a novice starting with ASP.NET. I have installed IIS in my machine. It is running perfectly. I am able to create a new WebApplication project in VS.NET also. But when I try to run it, it is showing an error as "Unable to debug on the server". I have seen the help and made the changes in IIS. Like, I have created the application name for that directory. I have checked the security related things also. They are all fine.

Even I tried to run it without debugging. It is showing an error as "Server Unavailable" whenever I try to access the URL of the aspx page directly. What shall I do now?. Any suggestions?

Did you install IIS before or after the .net Framework? if it was after you need to register .net with IIS using aspnet_regiis -c  I think it was.

I think it's -i not -c, -c only installs client side scripts (like the ones for validation)

I have installed IIS before installing .NET framework. If that is the case, then I should not be able to  create a web application. But I am able to do that. While running only it is showing an error as

unable to start debugging on the webserver. Server side error occured on sending debug HTTP request.

Make sure the server is operating correctly. Verify there are no syntax errors in web.config by doing a debug start.

Start without debugging you may also want to refer to the asp.net and ATL server debugging topic in the online documentation.

You should still run aspnet_regiis -i
It's usually the first thing done when trouble shooting .net problems. Doesn't hurt to run it more than once and seems to clear up loose ends.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
