Hi there ...

As soon as I try and save either a blog or a Newsletter I'm thrown into a 500 error. The file killing the process is http://irishdogs.ie/newspad/admin_save_editor_data.asp so I wonder if there is some permissioning problem here?

OK, this ONLY happens when trying to create a New Blog. Editing old stuff seems to be OK.

P.S. this Beta 2

Of course, I badly need to get a Newsletter out and it's killing me ...

Would need a detailed error messaging including line number from the server, not just the generic 500 error message, to know what the issue is.

If your website is not returning detailed error messages contact your web host and ask them to enabled detailed error messaging for classic ASP for your website.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e2f'

Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Description', table 'db1067200_ForumNews.dbo.tblNPNewsletter'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

Will need to change the database upgrade to fix this but for the moment you need to delete the field 'Description' from the database table tblNPNewsletter as this field is no longer used.

Have updated the database update for the next beta to remove the old columns to prevent others who are upgrading from having the same issue.

We have been using it ourselves for blogs and eNewsletters and so far only found some minor issues, but if you do find any let us know as I don't think many people have taken the plunge so far and have upgraded.
