i prefer paper first, nothing fancy.  it's easier to change it there.

Are you planning to use classic ASP? I recommend either asp.net or PHP :)
Obviously you need to spend some time planning!

Many people still use ASP particularly beginners an casual users as ASP.NET is very powerful but has a top steeper learning curve for many people who don't have a PHD in computer since.

PHP is good choice but we really need to wait for IIS7 architecture in soon to be released windows server 2008 and fastCGI to see better performance and support in the windows environment.

So, Bruce: I'm curious: what is your main reasons/motivation for not leaving the ASP boat and start coding in ASP.NET instead?

I would assume that sometime in a not-to-distant future M$ will put an end to "Classic ASP" as it is now called in Server 2008, meaning that people wanna earn a living on coding would have to start learning ASP.NET or perhaps PHP instead.

I'm just curious on why you (or your company would be more correct) decide not to do it yet. :D

I have spoken to members of Microsoft's IIS development team and they have no plans on dropping support for ASP in it's IIS server, as Classic ASP is still very popular, due to it's easy learning curve.

All MSDN events and Microsoft training events for windows server 2008 that I have been to all have sections and labs on Classic ASP.

There are plans to take on new full-time development staff to build our forum software in ASP.NET but it will be a massive project and will more likely take 2 or 3 years off full-time development work costing over $250,000 USD  to bring it anywhere near the features of the current ASP offering.
