Well guys, complete newbie here, you probably have answered this ten thousand times, but i can't find it.  I need to build my first asp site, and I can't find a server that will allow me top see what i am bloody doing before I start.
I am using dreamweaver MX if that matters.  Please help

Upgrade to XP Pro. It's very cheap now... XP Pro features IIS, the web server that enables you to run ASP files.

Thanks for that advice, but I was hoping to not have to dung out the whole machine for this one job - do you know of a work-around at all?

There's a few articles around about installing IIS on XP Home, but also a lot of dead bodies along that path. Not something for the faint of heart and there seem to be more failures than successes. Failures usually resulted in a hosed up machine.


Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
