Hi,

Hope I'm in the right place for this question.   I'm designing my
first site.   My client wanted a brief piece of music embedded on
the splash page. He gave me his music as an aiff.    Since the
page already has a large sliced graphic, adding this 28 sec.
music clip really jacked up the download time of the page. So I
imported it into Quick Time player which compressed it from 64
MB down to 8KM.

I burned a copy of my entire site onto disc so I can show it to the
client on my laptop.   I just tested the site on the browser of my
laptop, and the music didn't play. I clicked on the song.mov file,
and I got a message that it was searching for the original aiff file
instead!   Anothet pop up appeared, and it said the music
cannot play properly without this file.    Now, if I converted it into
a .mov file, how is it possible that it somehow retained the aiff
information?     Any ideas?   I'm totally baffled. Hope you can
help, or at least direct me to an area that might enlighten me
about this. Thanks!

have you double-checked the source code to make sure that it's updated with the new file name?

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Yes, I did check the source code and
the updated file did replace the older one.    Since this only
happened on my laptop, I assumed it was a problem with my
older ibook.

After tweeking my site on my desktop, all seemed to be in
working order so I uploaded it this afternoon.    However, all
the music files and the slideshow I put together using quick
time doesn't work at all.    The splash page which is supposed
to play a brief piece of embedded music doesn't work.   Then
there's a music page with links to songs that don't play, and
now I've discovered that the slideshow I created doesn't work
either. When any of those links are clicked, a page comes up
with all gibberish.     Is the embedded code possibly wrong?
Would you mind taking a look ?   www.powerofcohesion.com.

Thanks...
