is "administrator group" a feature only in v7? i'm using v6 now and cannot seem to find this option.

it would be nice to not log out and log in as an administrator to do administrative functions. is that possible in v6?

question 1, yes it is a feature only found in v7

you can stay logged in as the admin, so you don't need to log out. If you don't want to use the admin account for posts then there is pretty much no other choice in v6
